Alex Mwakideu Sparks Debate After Urging Men to Give Wives Money Even If They Earn More

Translate

Alex Mwakideu has sparked a heated online debate after advising men to give their wives money, even when the women earn more than them.

Mwakideu shared a quote graphic on Facebook on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, with a message encouraging men to maintain the practice regardless of the income difference between couples.

“Pesa ya mwanaume ni tamu zaidi. Hata kama wife analipwa zaidi yako; Mpe tu hela!” the message read.

Translated loosely, Mwakideu’s advice was that a man’s money is sweeter, and men should give their wives money even when their spouses earn higher salaries.

He accompanied the post with a question directed at women: “Ladies deserve Money, give them Money?”

Women applaud Mwakideu’s advice

The post attracted mixed reactions, with several commenters agreeing with the presenter and praising his views on relationships and financial support.

Dolly Makena wrote: “You are right and God bless you kwa huo ufahamu.”

Dada Wa Imani also expressed her approval, saying: “Wow, I listen to this again and again; perfect.”

Josephine Kiviu added: “Yes, please, and money is money. 5k is not money.”

Other supporters included Sarah Ogutu, who commented, “Praise the Lord,” while Concepta Steve urged him to continue spreading the message, writing, “Tell them.”

Victoria Raburu also endorsed the advice, saying, “Hapo sasa.”

Men question the advice

However, not everyone agreed with Mwakideu’s position, with some commenters questioning what men receive in return and how they should manage the financial expectations.

Inspekta Thoyear asked: “And what do they have to give us apart from ile kitu?”

Mc Njoya Brian questioned the practicality of the advice, writing: “Where do you want that money to come from?”

Onesmus Mathuka also challenged Mwakideu to have his wife weigh in on the discussion, saying: “I would agree with you if only your wife would tell us.”

Others argued that financial support was not necessarily the most important ingredient in a relationship.

Peter Osabe offered a different perspective, writing: “Give her love; it’s the winner of the table.”

Who is Alex Mwakideu?
