Two motorcycle riders were killed while a passenger was injured after their motorcycles collided along the Manila-North Road in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan.
In a report by CJ Torida on GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon on Tuesday, the accident occurred in Barangay Nancayasan in the early hours of Sunday.
According to police investigation, one of the victims had traveled from Quezon City and was on his way to visit his aunt in Pangasinan. The other rider, who had a passenger, was heading home to Nueva Ecija.
Police Lieutenant Roselle Marinas, information officer of the Urdaneta City Police Station, said the surviving passenger claimed that the other motorcycle rider had encroached on their lane, resulting in the collision.
Both motorcycle riders were rushed to a hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival. The surviving passenger is now recovering.
Authorities are still trying to get statements from the families of the two fatalities, according to the report.
In a separate incident in Urdaneta City, the driver of a kolong-kolong (a small motorized vehicle) was killed after he crashed into a parked tricycle along the Bypass Road.
The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, fell off, and hit his head on the concrete road.
He was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. —RF, GMA News
