India’s Murali Sreeshankar clinched siklver in the men’s long jump at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games 2026 on Monday.

He managed a best distance of 8.07m on just his second attempt before seemingly injuring his left ankle off courtesy an awkward landing in wet conditions at the Nagoya City Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium.

The other Indian the fray, David Soloman Patturaj, managed a best attempt of 7.70m to finish seventh.

With this result, Sreeshankar has won back-to-back silver medals at the Asian Games. He had also won silver at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games earlier this year and at the 2022 Birmingham CWG edition.
