#SHOWBIZ: 'BASS' is official! Syed Saddiq and Bella Astillah tie the knot

KUALA LUMPUR: Muar Member of Parliament Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman, 34, tied the knot with popular singer and actress Bella Astillah, 32, in an elegant solemnisation ceremony at Menara Merdeka Maybank today.

The solemnisation was conducted at around 10.40am by former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Seri Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.

Syed Saddiq completed the akad nikah in a single solemn declaration, sealing the romantic journey that began with their engagement on March 28.

During the solemnisation, the groom handed over a dowry of RM500 to his bride.

The ceremony, held on Level 118 of the iconic skyscraper, brought together around 250 guests comprising family members, dignitaries, and fellow celebrity friends.

Donning all-white attire, the newlyweds reflected the ceremony's aesthetic, which embraced an Arabic-Islamic theme requested by their families.

As part of the tradition, seven hantaran trays were presented by the groom's side, answered by nine trays from the bride.

Syed Saddiq's gifts included savings for Bella alongside a master's degree scholarship package, while Bella's side presented a ring, books, and gold.

To top off the celebration, the newlyweds were presented with a surprise sponsored Umrah package.

Following today's nuptials, the couple—fondly nicknamed "BASS" by their devoted fan base—will host a grand reception at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) on Oct 18.

They are also set to host a Kenduri Rakyat for the public in Muar, Johor, on Oct 25, followed by another celebration in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on Oct 31.
