Stephen Graham's brilliant, gritty and "magnificent" serial killer drama Nocturne is streaming now

Stephen Graham's crime drama TV show Nocturne is now available for streaming. Based on the bestselling crime novel The Sandman by Alexander Ahndoril and Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril (known by the pen name Lars Kepler), the ten-episode series follows a homicide detective, Jonah Lynn, who relocates to a small Pennsylvania town following retirement.
However, he is pulled out to locate the last remaining victim of a serial killer, Jurek Walter, who still presents himself as a major threat to the town and to Lynn, as he races to protect those he holds dear.
Graham stars as Walter, while Liev Schreiber plays Lynn. Alongside them, the cast also includes Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz, 12 Years a Slave's Bill Camp as Chief Ellison, Scream 4's Rory Culkin as Karl, This Is Us' Chrissy Metz as Ida and Death in Paradise's Gary Carr as Nathan.

Over on Rotten Tomatoes, critical reception to Nocturne has been incredibly positive, earning it 81%.
In its review, ScreenRant wrote: "Nocturne’s well-written villain and superb performances more than make up for the narrative predictability, and the story still feels pulse-racing even when it's obvious what's coming."
Loud and Clear Reviews called it "a sinister reversal of the cat-and-mouse genre, with superb tension, top-tier acting, a methodically unfolding plot, and a magnificent serial killer aspect", while CBR.com praised the film's "sublime performances".
For many critics, Graham is a standout, with Ready Steady Cut calling his performance "mesmerising", while Heaven of Horror wrote: "For me, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham are the best."

In Digital Spy's five-star review, we described the Adolescence star as having done a "stunning job" with his performance as Walter.
"When it comes to Nocturne, you can't get away from the echoes of The Silence of the Lambs, especially when comparing Graham's Jurek to Anthony Hopkins' Hannibal Lecter," we said.
"Both are more creature than human, still able to inflict pain and mayhem despite their detainment, and yet the Apple TV series is so obviously its own thing."
Nocturne is now available to stream on Apple TV.
