Cartoon Network's We Bare Bears Officially Returns In 3 Months

Cartoon Network’s We Bare Bears blended absurd humor with wholesome moments, making it a favorite among viewers and one of the network’s most notable contributions of the last decade. However, fans said goodbye to the series in 2020 with We Bare Bears: The Movie, which served as the lovable trio's official farewell. Now, fans can mark their calendars for December, as Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear are set to make an epic comeback.

We Bare Bears ran for an impressive four seasons, giving fans a commendable 140 episodes in total, spanning from 2015 to 2019. While the 44th episode of Season 4, “Panda’s Birthday,” served as the show’s final regular episode, We Bare Bears: The Movie ultimately served as the grand finale of the series. However, die-hard fans of the lovable trio know that they technically returned in 2022 with We Baby Bears.

We Baby Bears follows Grizz, Panda, and Ice Bear as cubs and is still ongoing as of September 2026, with three seasons released thus far. However, this December, the grown-up version of the Bear Stack trio is officially returning, with the We Bare Bears Christmas Special set to release on December 16, 2026.

Dynamite, in partnership with Cartoon Network, will be delivering an oversized holiday special of We Bare Bears this December. From the creative talents of writer Paulina Ganucheau and artists Ciro Cangialosi, Carlo Lauro, and Stefano Porcu comes the 32-page special, which will be available to purchase for $5.99 upon its release.

As part of Dynamite’s early December solicitations, the comic publisher has shared the official synopsis for the special: “Merry Christmas from Grizzly, Panda, and Ice Bear! Tis the season for an oversized holiday special, with THREE all-new stories featuring the "Bear Stack" trio, who are still doing their best to blend in with human society, despite being... y'know, bears.”

While this synopsis doesn’t give much away, the mention of the issue containing three stories is particularly notable, as it means fans can look forward to multiple new adventures following the Bear Stack trio. In addition to the synopsis, Dynamite has also provided the main cover for the issue, as well as various variant covers, confirming that the recognizable art style of the TV series will also appear in the comic special.

The main cover for the issue is notably by the special’s lead writer, Paulina Ganucheau, while the featured variant cover is by artist Drew Moss. Fans will also find previews of the Cover C Wrapping Paper Variant and Cover D Greeting Card Variant. With this preview, it’s clear that Dynamite is cooking up something special this holiday season for the Bear Stack trio, something that will be a must-read for all We Bare Bears fans.
