X-Men reboot adds Gen V favourite to star-studded line-up in upcoming MCU film

The X-Men reboot has found its Angel – with Gen V star Asa Germann the latest mutant to be cast in the upcoming Marvel film.

Fans were sent into a frenzy when MCU chief Kevin Feige revealed some key members of the cast by inviting them to the stage at D23 last month.

Joining Sadie Sink, who debuted as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, are Heartstopper's Kit Connor as Cyclops, Obsession breakout Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Ready or Not star Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, The Testament of Ann Lee's Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Broadway alumni Maya Boyd as Storm, and Hollywood big hitter Adam Driver as the villain Mr Sinister.

Another name has been added to the ranks as Variety has reported that Germann will play the role of Angel in the X-Men reboot, which is set to hit the big screen on Friday 5 May 2028.

The character, who can fly thanks to two wings on his back, and has enhanced vision, was previously portrayed by Ben Foster in 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand and by Ben Hardy in X-Men: Apocalypse a decade later.

Germann is best known for playing Sam Riordan in the TV series Gen V and The Boys, Lucas Bowden in Scream 7, which was released earlier this year.

The Marvel Studios film, which does not have a confirmed title at the time of writing, will be directed by Jake Schreier, who will be stepping back into the MCU after his 2024 hit Thunderbolts.
