The conversation also turned towards the possibility of Jason Sanjay directing Thalapathy Vijay in a future project. The young filmmaker was asked what kind of story he would choose if he got an opportunity to work with his father.Jason Sanjay said he would like to bring out a fun and innocent side of Thalapathy Vijay. He pointed out that his father has already displayed these qualities in several films. Jason Sanjay said he would approach the idea through a lighthearted romantic comedy.

He would like the story to feature entertaining and relatable characters.

Jason Sanjay reveals how Thalapathy Vijay responds

Jason Sanjay also opened up about Thalapathy Vijay's personality away from the camera. He described his father as someone who does not respond immediately to questions."My dad is usually a quiet person. He takes his time. If I ask a question, he’ll take 10 seconds to respond," Jason Sanjay said. The director recalled moments when the silence during their phone calls made him wonder whether the conversation had ended.

He explained that he sometimes checks if Thalapathy Vijay is still on the call.“If he’s quiet all the while, I’ll ask, ‘Did you cut the call, Appa?’ Think, come to your conclusion, and then call me, email me, or something.”

Jason Sanjay expects Vijay to like 'Sigma'

In the same interview, Jason Sanjay said he understands that watching and assessing a film requires more time than answering a question over the phone. He therefore expects Thalapathy Vijay to take his time before sharing his thoughts about 'Sigma'.Despite that, Jason Sanjay said he remains confident about his father's eventual reaction. “I think you need more time to analyse the film. But he’ll like the film. He’ll be proud,” Jason said.'Sigma' marks Jason Sanjay's first outing as a director. The movie stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles. Thaman has composed the music, while Krishnan Vasant has handled the cinematography.

'Sigma' box office opening

'Sigma' has received a U/A certification and opened in theatres with an India net collection of Rs 2.35 cr.

According to Sacnilk, the film recorded the opening-day figure across 1,813 shows.The movie registered 31.1% overall occupancy across India on its first day. Its India gross collection stood at Rs 2.70 cr after Day 1. The opening numbers provide the initial box office picture for Jason Sanjay's directorial debut. The film's India net remained at Rs 2.35 cr after its first day.
