5 Coronation Street spoilers for tonight as Bernie is left devastated

Coronation Street spoilers follow for Monday's episode (21 September), which is available to watch now on ITVX and YouTube but hasn't aired on ITV1 yet.

In tonight's Coronation Street, it's truth time for Kit as his strange behaviour at the hospital concerns Bernie.

Meanwhile, Debbie lashes out at Kevin after a misunderstanding, and Sally becomes suspicious about Lucy's manipulation.

1. Kit loses it at the hospital

Kit heads to the hospital to accompany Bernie, who's being tested to see whether she has the faulty BRCA gene variant.

Bernie tells Kit and Dev that she's confident everything will turn out fine – especially as the technician in the appointment room is called Paul, which she interprets as a positive sign from the universe.

A struggling Kit loses his temper with Bernie, branding her beliefs delusional.

2. Bernie finally discovers the truth

Bernie rushes after Kit, concerned about his latest erratic behaviour.

Kit realises that it's time to tell Bernie the truth, so he opens up about his stage three breast cancer diagnosis. Bernie is devastated, immediately fearing that she could lose another child.

3. Debbie lashes out

Steve is short-staffed at Street Cars, so he's been forced to put one of the drivers on the switch. The guy in question isn't doing a good job, so Steve is relieved when Carl steps forward and offers himself up for the position instead.

As news spreads about Carl securing a trial at the cab office, Ross bad-mouths him to Kevin and suggests that he's been forgiven far too quickly for all of his bad behaviour.

Debbie overhears the conversation and wrongly assumes that Kevin is the one complaining about Carl, so she slaps him round the face.

4. Sally loses patience with Lucy

Sally wants to attend a pub quiz at the Rovers, but clingy Lucy tries to scupper her plans by claiming that she's not feeling well.

While Sally would usually be sympathetic, she vents to Tim about how she reckons Lucy is faking her illness for attention.

5. Maggie vs Glenda

Maggie isn't happy when Ben and Eva agree to let Glenda post a video of Susie singing on the Little Big Shotz website, still fearing that it's too risky.

Despite being outnumbered, Maggie gets the Little Big Shotz social media account suspended – threatening the success of the local project.
