About 'Vishwanath and Sons'

Directed by Venky Atluri, 'Vishwanath and Sons' stars Suriya in the lead role, with Mamitha Baiju, Raveena Tandon and Radikaa Sarathkumar playing important parts. The film combines family emotions, romance, humour and drama, presenting Suriya in a relatively lighter role. He plays Sanjay Vishwanath, an international pistol shooter whose life takes an unexpected turn after a family crisis. Released on August 14 during the Independence Day weekend, the film clashed at the box office with both 'Batwara 1947' and 'Awarapan 2'.

With its weekend run now underway, the film's Sunday collection will be closely watched to see whether the positive word of mouth can push its first-weekend total higher.
