Portions of Zambales highway impassable to light vehicles due to flood
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Portions of the national highway in Castillejos, Zambales are impassable to light vehicles on Monday afternoon due to flooding amid persistent rains.
The affected sections are stretches are in Barangays San Roque and San Nicolas, according to a road status update issued by the Zambales Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office at 4 p.m.
Authorities advised motorists to exercise caution, particularly when passing through areas where floodwaters are rising.

The advisory came a day after the same road was declared impassable to light vehicles as the province continued to experience rains brought by the southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

Data from the PDRRMO showed that 261 families or 899 individuals were evacuated in the province.
Castillejos has the most number of evacuees (145 families or 512 individuals).
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned of contiuousd heavy rainfall due to the southwest monsoon.
