Celebs Prove the Lace Cami Is Fall’s Coolest Going-Out Top

The going-out top from the early to mid-aughts received a 2026 makeover for fall. Kendall Jenner, Dua Lipa, Karlie Kloss, and Hailey Bieber have all recently been spotted rocking lace camis—and they're the answer to the age-old question, "what do I wear with jeans?"

The modern camisole emerged in the 19th century as undergarments worn over corsets and petticoats. By the late 1800s and early 1900s, they became widely used by women everywhere and were trimmed with intricate lace.

Because of this, lace trims became synonymous with lingerie throughout the 20th century. In the 90s, these lace-trimmed camisoles and slip dresses transcended underwear as stars began donning them on red carpets and city streets alike.

Now, the underwear-as-outerwear trend remains strong, with celebrities proving that a lace cami is the coolest going-out top of fall 2026.

How Celebrities are Styling Lace Camis for Fall 2026 

The lace camis celebrities are wearing in 2026 don't look anything like the layered versions from Limited Too we wore in middle and high school.

Instead, we're seeing lace-trimmed in flowy or A-line silhouettes inspired by the 1920s and Victoria's Secret circa 1990s and modern asymmetrical cuts. Most often, you'll see them in satin or silk lingerie-like fabrics and pretty much every color you could ever want, from pastels to neons.
