We aren't too far out now from the upcoming Pokémon Trading Card Game: Mega Evolution - Delta Reign expansion hitting the shelves, which means we are getting more sneak peeks at some of the cards that will be included in this incredible TCG set. This includes four beautiful new promo cards that will be part of the prerelease events for Delta Reign,

Although the Pokémon TCG: Delta Reign expansion releases on November 6, 2026, many Pokémon-approved game stores will be holding prerelease events for the set starting October 24. Check with your friendly local game store to find out if they will be participating, or you can use the official Event Locator provided by The Pokémon Company.

The Prerelease format plays differently than traditional games, with a few new rules, including that players must play with a 40-card deck from the Build & Battle Box. Inside those Build & Battle Boxes, you have a chance of getting one of four newly revealed promo cards.

Only one of these promo cards will be included in a box, although if you're there in person, then you could try trading with others at the event if you don't get the one you were hoping for.

  • Masquerain
  • Magmortar
  • Enamorus
  • Kommo-o

These promos are all new, alternate art versions of cards in the Pokémon TCG: Delta Reign set, and each highlights some of the abilities that can be focused on for gameplay strategies, such as Masquerain's "Bug Out" attack.

Events like these Prerelease games can always be a great time to introduce new players to a TCG like Pokémon, with the shorter game rounds making for quick sessions. Plus, everyone is in the same situation for decks, rather than having someone play with a perfectly balanced deck that they've crafted over time.

The Delta Reign expansion will be the sixth main set for the Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution series, and this time the headlining Pokémon will be none other than Mega Rayquaza ex. Some of the cards included were released in the Japanese set, Storm Emeralda, and the 2026 Japanese ex Starter Sets.

Among the cards that everyone is hoping to get is the matching set of two Legendary Stadium cards that can be combined to form one beautiful image. Thankfully, any Delta Reign booster pack that includes a Legendary Stadium will have both halves, which will prevent card prices from skyrocketing.

If you aren't able to attend an in-person Prerelease event, don't worry! The Build & Battle Boxes will be available for purchase after the Delta Reign expansion officially launches on November 6, 2026. And, as we wait for that release date to get here, the Pokémon TCG is also well known for having special Halloween-themed cards and merchandise that we can expect to find in October.
