Reacher season 5: Release date speculation and latest news

Translate

The fourth season of Reacher has now come to an end, with all episodes available to stream on Prime Video.

As with previous runs of the show, the new season saw Alan Ritchson's character venturing to a new location and meeting a whole host of new characters, as he was drawn into another adventure.

Now, of course, thoughts will turn to the future of the show, and whether we will see this version of the character again beyond his cameo appearance in spin-off show, Neagley.

So, what do we know so far?

Will there be a Reacher season 5?

A person hangs one-handed from the underside of a large steel bridge, with one leg dangling as they strain to hold on. The image is shot from below, emphasizing the height and the bridge's riveted metal beams, while the person's tense expression conveys urgency and danger. They are wearing a dark jacket, blue shirt, gray trousers, and tan work boots.

There will! In fact, Reacher was renewed for season 5 back in May 2026, before season 4 even debuted.

The new season will be based on Lee Child's 20th Reacher book, Make Me, which was first released in 2015.

The book follows Reacher as he hits the road once again before his train stops in the mysterious town of Mother’s Rest in the Midwest. Soon, he's teaming up with a private investigator for a missing person's case, uncovering a dangerous and deadly criminal conspiracy in the process.

When the renewal was confirmed, Peter Friedlander, head of global television for Amazon MGM Studios, said in a statement: "From Lee Child’s globally beloved novels to its standout on-screen adaptation, Reacher has evolved into a true powerhouse franchise.

"The series’ ability to combine high-octane action with compelling character storytelling continues to resonate with tens of millions of viewers around the world. We’re excited to move forward with a fifth season ahead of season four’s debut and to build on this incredible momentum."

We don't yet know when Reacher season 5 will debut, and it's hard to tell from previous releases. Each season has arrived at a different time of year, meaning it has never stuck to a regular pattern.

Still, there is hope that we shouldn't have to wait too long. The show was renewed back in May, well before season 4 even debuted.

We would therefore imagine that we will see season 5 at some time in the second half of 2027 - although that is currently just speculation.

We will keep this page updated with any more concrete information as we get it.

Who will star in Reacher season 5?

As is the standard for Reacher, the fifth season will once again swap out the majority of the cast, with Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher meeting a whole new group of characters.

This time around, they will be played by Amanda Ip, Jay Baruchel, Ciara Bravo and Kevin Durand, although more stars will surely be announced in due course.

One supporting character we could potentially see pop up is Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who made appearances in the first three seasons of Reacher before getting her own spin-off show, Neagley. Her return has not yet been confirmed, but we wouldn't rule it out.

Here's a full list of the currently confirmed cast for Reacher season 5:

  • Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher
  • Amanda Ip as Michelle Chang
  • Jay Baruchel as Chief Buck Bauer
  • Ciara Bravo as Eunice
  • Kevin Durand as Nokes

Is there a trailer for Reacher season 5?

There isn't a trailer available for Reacher season 5 yet, but we will make sure to add one in once it is released. In the meantime, you can rewatch the trailer for season 4 here.
