Residents of the Palestinian village of Awarta, located southeast of Nablus in the West Bank, woke up on Sunday morning to find a building set on fire, a vehicle torched, and graffiti sprayed throughout the village.

Images from the village obtained by Walla showed graffiti reading “Revenge 30 for Benayahu” and “Death to the enemy, freedom for the homeland," which was the slogan of the Lehi (Stern Group).

The graffiti referred to the 30 days since Capt. (res.) Benayahu Mellet, a member of the emergency response team and agriculture coordinator at Gilad Farm, was murdered alongside Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27, in a terror shooting attack near the farm last month.

Two others were wounded in the late July attack.

Israel Police received a report of the incident, opened an investigation, and are preparing to enter the area with the IDF.

Several days after the terror attack, clashes broke out near Nablus after a group of Israelis entered the West Bank village of Tal, near the location where Mellet was murdered, and continued from there toward the outskirts of the city.

According to the IDF at the time, Palestinians threw stones at the Israelis, and one of them fired into the air. No injuries were reported. At the same time, according to an IDF report, several Israeli civilians vandalized a cemetery in the area.

On August 11, the IDF and Border Police announced they had destroyed the home of the terrorist who killed Ezra and Mellet.

Settlers reportedly drag Palestinian donkey to death

Separately, on Sunday, footage shared on social media reportedly shows settlers dragging a donkey to its death behind a tractor near Hebron.

According to reports, the donkey had been stolen from a nearby Palestinian town.
