Translate

Fenerbahçe are reportedly considering a January move for Bursaspor striker Kelechi Iheanacho following the Nigerian forward’s impressive start to life in Turkey.

Iheanacho, who joined Bursaspor on a free transfer in the summer, has wasted little time making his mark, delivering a remarkable return of 16 goals and three assists in just 12 league appearances for the Green Crocodiles.

His outstanding performances have reportedly attracted the attention of Fenerbahçe, with Turkish news outlet HT Spor claiming that the Istanbul giants are weighing up a January swoop for the 30-year-old.

Fenerbahçe are keen to strengthen their attacking options as they look to mount a serious title challenge and close the gap on city rivals Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries currently occupy fifth position in the Turkish Süper Lig standings, having collected 16 points from their opening nine matches.

Meanwhile, the club have recently undergone a managerial change, with İsmail Kartal departing his position following their derby defeat to Galatasaray.

Former Liverpool winger Dirk Kuyt has subsequently been appointed interim manager as Fenerbahçe look to steady the ship and revive their campaign.

Iheanacho’s impressive goalscoring form could make him an attractive January target as Fenerbahçe seek to add more firepower to their attack.
