EastEnders confirms Denzel blackmail ordeal as Craig makes vile new move

EastEnders’ Denzel Fox-Danes is at his wits’ end next week as creepy Craig Ingram blackmails him over exposing pictures he sent to Amy Mitchell!

Despite the teen managing to raise the cash to pay off his tormentor, things go from bad to worse when jealous Craig sends the pics to Kim and Howie regardless – right in the middle of Denzel’s birthday party…

"Kim and Howie are horrified when they receive the photos, and Denzel is nothing short of mortified," begins our EastEnders insider. "But sadly, this turn of events is going to have more serious consequences than just a few red faces, after twisted Craig uses it as another way to further manipulate Amy."

The week begins with Denzel living in terror as his mystery blackmailer demands money, or they will leak his pictures. The teenager confides in Nugget, who tries to help by seeing if he can nab some cash from the Minute Mart, but the pair are scuppered by Yolande.

So, when Howie and Kim later surprise Denzel with a signet ring ahead of his birthday party, he realises he has no choice but to take the jewellery straight down the pawn shop. But his relief is short-lived…

"As Denzel’s family and friends celebrate, Craig is secretly watching Amy having a good time," explains our source. "Amy spots him spying and calls him out on it. Angry and jealous, Craig opens his phone and presses send – and soon, all hell breaks loose!"

As Kim and Howie reel, Denzel is forced to tell them what’s been happening, admitting that he sold his ring to pay the blackmailer. With Denzel knowing he sent the pictures to Amy, she also has some explaining to do.

Feeling under pressure, Amy soon turns to Craig, who’s intrigued when she mentions she’s due to inherit a cool £100,000 from her grandad, Archie Mitchell, when she turns 21. When Craig suggests they could leave Walford together, Amy agrees.

Keen to fund their getaway, Amy starts to investigate ways to get her hands on the cash sooner. Meanwhile, her relationship with her dad Jack continues to go from bad to worse, leaving Amy surer than ever that her future lies with Craig.

"Amy thinks she has things sorted – but she runs into trouble as Denzel is starting to ask questions," reveals our insider. "Will he somehow manage to expose Craig for the manipulative villain he is – or is Amy about to make the biggest mistake of her life?"

EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
