‘Nobody Wants This’ Creator Erin Foster Has “More Story To Tell” With A Season 4, But Isn’t Getting “Too Attached”

If Netflix wants this, Erin Foster is ready to serve up a fourth season of her Jewish romantic-comedy.

Following the release of Nobody Wants This Season 3, the series creator recently confirmed she has “more story to tell” if the streamer gives the show a renewal, but noted she tries not to “get too attached to the outcome” in these situations.

“There’s those next steps as people who are not in their 20s, getting married and you’re starting off already kind of behind everyone else,” she told Parade. “I experienced that when I got married, I was 37, and it’s a different experience. So, yeah, I do think that there’s more story to tell.”

Foster continued, “But I’m also someone who doesn’t get too attached to the outcome and is sort of fluid about allowing sort of the market to tell us what they want from us. I never want to have a show that goes on longer than people want to see it. I’d rather people want more than want less.

In Nobody Wants This, inspired by Foster’s relationship with her music exec husband Simon Tikhman, agnostic podcaster Joanne Williams (Kristen Bell) begins an unexpected romance with Rabbi Noah Roklov (Adam Brody), which shakes both their families as Joanne immerses herself in Noah’s culture and decides to convert to Judaism.

Foster’s Season 4 comments come after she responded to Brody’s support of “Free Palestine,” which has sparked controversy among pro-Israel fans of the show. “While I love Adam, I also disagree with him. And that’s okay,” she said.
