GQ Expands Men of the Year Footprint in L.A.

Translate

GQ‘s Men of the Year footprint in Los Angeles is growing — with some A-list names in tow.

A marquee franchise for the Condé Nast publication, Men of the Year will be celebrated at three events this month in a showing that will mark the mag’s most ambitious run in the annual rollout. And this time it’s being steered by global editorial director Adam Baidawi, who took over in February 2026 after longtime editor Will Welch departed for a role working for Pharrell Williams in Paris.

GQ has drafted Chris Rock, Andrew Garfield and Matt Damon to serve as Men of the Year co-hosts for their respective work in Misty Green, Artificial and The Odyssey. The three cover stars will bring some star power to the 31st installment of the series, which will also feature fellow honorees like GQ’s director of the year Denis Villeneuve for Dune: Part Three and designer of the year Michael Rider of Celine.

As for those events, the Men of the Year celebration kicks off Nov. 10 at the recently opened Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, where GQ will host Villeneuve with a champagne reception, a live recording of GQ’s “One More Question” interview series fronted by senior special projects editor Zach Baron and a VIP screening of Dune: Part Two ahead of the franchise’s final bow on Dec. 18.

Next up will be a “Breakouts” house party at the Sheats-Goldstein Residence on Nov. 11. The soiree wil host and toast the mag’s 13 Breakouts of 2026, a roster of boldfaced names across film, TV, music, comedy and podcasting. (The list will be published on GQ.com on Nov. 9.)

And last but not least: the anticipated Men of the Year bash will return to Chateau Marmont on Nov. 12. An intimate dinner honoring the GQ’s cover stars will open the night and feature some starry (and filmed) toasts from special guests who will fete their friends. Then, after dessert, the action turns up a notch for the annual Men of the Year party that will once again host VIPs across entertainment, fashion, sports and culture.

“This year’s GQ Men of the Year honorees have delivered extraordinary performances and propelled the cultural conversation of 2026. We wanted to meet that creative ambition with some of our own. Expanding to three events in Los Angeles — something brand new to Men of the Year — gives us the space to celebrate their work, get into the ideas behind it and introduce the talent we think everyone needs to watch next. It’s an ambitious new chapter for a tradition we love,” Baidawi tells The Hollywood Reporter in a statement.
