Claudia Winkleman introduces Ted Lasso favourite as The Traitors' on-stage host for brand new show

Claudia Winkleman has formally sworn in a familiar face from The Celebrity Traitors to take on hosting duties for the game's first stage outing.

Nick Mohammed, the Ted Lasso and Slow Horses actor who reached the final of the BBC's first celebrity run, has been confirmed as The Host in The Traitors - Acts of Betrayal, a brand new West End production opening next year.

In a newly released clip, Claudia Winkleman shows Mohammed the ropes, demonstrating exactly how to do her iconic round table walk in Ardross Castle.

Mohammed proved a fan favourite during The Celebrity Traitors in 2025, reaching the final three as a Faithful alongside historian David Olusoga and eventual winner Alan Carr. Carr, secretly a Traitor, took the crown after Mohammed agreed to end the game believing his friend was also a Faithful.

The stage production begins previews from 11 May 2027, with the world premiere opening night on 8 June 2027 at London's Gillian Lynne Theatre. Tickets are on sale now at thetraitorsonstage.com.

The Traitors - Acts of Betrayal reinvents the format as a single evening of theatre, with what normally unfolds across a full television series happening in one night. The Traitors are chosen, the round tables and murders take their toll, and the night builds to a dramatic final.

Eleven fictional characters from across the country play the game, among them a farmer, a mortician, an intelligence officer, a young entrepreneur, a cleaner and an auctioneer. Each night the characters learn truths about themselves while playing a game of lying.

The production will stage five different versions, each with the same 11 characters and the same beginning, but in which characters banished or murdered early in one version emerge victorious in another. Each play stands alone as a complete, self-contained drama, described by the producers as an exploration of the sliding doors of fate.

The show is written by multi-award-winning John Finnemore, best known for the radio sitcom Cabin Pressure, and directed by Robert Hastie, whose credits include the Olivier Award-winning Standing at the Sky's Edge and the West End hit Operation Mincemeat. It is produced by Studio Lambert and Neal Street Productions.

The Traitors is available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
