Two teen girls injured after jumping from window to escape house fire
PITAS: Two teenage girls were injured after jumping from a window to escape a fire that destroyed two houses in Kampung Dandun early today.
The victims, aged 13 and 18, sustained injuries while trying to escape before members of the public sent them to the hospital.
Pitas Fire and Rescue station chief Assistant Fire Superintendent Noor Jali Maslah said an emergency call was received at 4.55am.
He said a team of seven firefighters and a fire engine arrived at the scene, located 23km away, at 5.24am to find two houses fully engulfed in flames.
"Firefighters carried out extinguishing operations and managed to bring the blaze completely under control," he said in a statement today.
The operation concluded at 8.24am after ensuring the area was safe.
The cause of the fire and total losses remain under investigation.S
