KUALA LUMPUR: Air quality in the Klang Valley, including Putrajaya, was moderate as of 7.40am today, with nine monitoring stations recording Air Pollutant Index (API) readings below 100.

Based on the latest data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), six stations in Selangor recorded readings of 89 in Johan Setia, 86 in Klang, 81 in Shah Alam, 70 in Petaling Jaya, 69 in Kuala Selangor and 69 in Banting.

In Kuala Lumpur, Batu Muda recorded an API reading of 84 and Cheras 82, while Putrajaya recorded 99.

It was reported that all schools in Johor, Melaka, Negri Sembilan and Putrajaya would be closed today due to haze.

The closure also involved schools under the Hulu Langat, Petaling Perdana, Kuala Langat and Sepang district education offices in Selangor, as well as those under the Kuantan and Rompin district education offices in Pahang.

Schools in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, Kedah, Kelantan, Perlis, Penang, Perak, Terengganu, Sabah and Sarawak would operate as usual.
