Australia A all-rounder Liam Scott survived a run-out in bizarre circumstances in the second unofficial ODI between India A and Australia A in Pondicherry on Friday, October 9.
In the 41st over of the visitor’s batting innings, Scott nudged the ball to Anukul Roy and set off for a single. Roy unfurled a throw that made contact with the stumps without fully dislodging the bails immediately.
Scott was out of his ground when the ball first made with the stumps, and seeemed to think he had been run out, but Kannur Swaroopanand determined that the left spigot of the bail had not removed from its groove in the middle stump before he had made his ground.
As a result, Scott was given not out and continued batting. He was on four when the incident took place, and added four more runs before holing out off the bowling of Anukul Roy.
India A is seeking to level the series after losing the opener by 125 runs.
