World's largest portable flag raised in Haifa ahead of Rosh Hashanah

An Israeli flag, expected to receive official recognition as the largest mobile flag in the world, was raised in Haifa on Friday as part of an initiative aimed at strengthening a sense of unity, belonging, and Israeli pride.  

The flag, which measures approximately 40 meters in height, was recently submitted as a candidate for the Guinness World Records and is displayed permanently at the Flag House in Kfar Shmaryahu.

The Haifa Municipality, Haifa Port, and Boaz Hayon joined together to bring the flag to Haifa and raise it on the eve of Rosh Hashanah. The flag was placed near the Palmer Gate at Haifa Port and can be seen from many parts of the city and bay, as well as from the sea and approaching ships.  

The public is invited to visit the area and view the flag during the holiday.

Flag symbolizes Haifa's resilience, mayor says

“There is something symbolic and moving about the fact that, on the eve of the new year, the Israeli flag is flying above Haifa Port, visible from many parts of the city and from the sea. Haifa has experienced difficult days in recent years. Our city was attacked in the recent wars, and we faced sirens and threats, but we remained standing, strong and proud," Haifa Mayor Yona Yahav said.
