Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has issued 1,351 visas to support the 2026 Mandalika MotoGP, held at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections said on Sunday.

The ministry has also deployed 50 additional immigration personnel at airports, the circuit and surrounding areas to strengthen immigration services and security for riders, teams and foreign visitors, Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko said.

“We are ensuring that visa services and immigration procedures run smoothly so that visitors feel safe and comfortable and have a positive experience during their stay in Indonesia,” Marantoko said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta.

He expressed hope that efficient immigration services would also help stimulate the local economy.

“Through optimal immigration services, we want to ensure that Indonesia not only successfully hosts a world-class sporting event but also makes the most of this opportunity to create broader economic opportunities for local communities,” he said.

Immigration authorities will continue to strengthen services and oversight to facilitate international mobility, including sporting events, tourism and other international activities, Marantoko said.

Professional immigration services are also part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia's international image, he said.

“We want to demonstrate that Indonesian Immigration is ready to support world-class events, not only by issuing visas but also by providing services that offer certainty, comfort and security,” he said.

Immigration authorities should contribute to the country's progress while delivering tangible benefits to the public, Marantoko said.

The Mandalika MotoGP was the 17th round of the 2026 season, with race activities held on October 9-11.
