Manpower Ministry, Baznas explore joint programme for inclusive jobs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Manpower Ministry and the National Alms Agency (Baznas) discussed joint initiatives to empower alms recipients and persons with disabilities, focusing on vocational training, job placement, and preparations for overseas internships.
"This collaboration is part of the Manpower Ministry’s commitment to realising an inclusive job market while building economic independence in communities through the use of religious philanthropic funds," a special staff to the manpower minister, Sukro Muhab, said in a statement received here on Wednesday.
Muhab noted the ministry intends to work with Baznas to connect economic empowerment programme with employment schemes, tailoring government interventions and assistance to people’s actual needs.
"We will focus this synergy on expanding employment access for citizens with disabilities, preparing prospective interns bound for Japan, and optimising the alms collection unit (UPZ) of the Manpower Ministry," he said.

Muhab added Baznas would also be involved in vocational training programmes and efforts to facilitate underprivileged residents in securing employment. He expressed hope the cooperation would enable more people to enhance their skills and enter the job market.
"Our cooperation with Baznas is being directed toward generating greater benefits for the people from the distribution of alms," he remarked.
The official confirmed the Manpower Ministry and Baznas had also discussed ways to strengthen the role of the ministry’s UPZ in distributing alms to people in need.

"Through the partnership, the Manpower Ministry is committed to rolling out inclusive and equitable policies that cover all elements of society," Muhab concluded.
Meanwhile, Baznas chief for distribution, utilization, and empowerment, Idy Muzayyad, emphasised the agency’s readiness to support programmes introduced by the ministry.
Muzayyad expressed belief the ministry has the potential to make greater contributions to alms distribution by optimising its UPZ.
