Shantel VanSanten is set to return to CBS' FBI series in an upcoming episode in season 9, which is currently airing in the US.

The actress, who plays Special Agent Nina Chase, will reprise her role in the seventh episode of season 9, titled Posterity, which will air on Monday 16 November at 8pm ET/PT.

VanSanten’s return will reunite her character with her on-screen husband, Stuart Scola (played by John Boyd). The pair, who first began dating during FBI season 4, are a firm fan-favourite couple among fans.

The synopsis for Posterity teases: "After the murder of an online influencer, the team discovers that one of their cameras captured video of a criminal on the Most Wanted list. The team works alongside Special Agent Nina Chase (guest star VanSanten) to intercept him before he disappears."

VanSanten was last seen in the eleventh episode of season 8, titled Confetti, in which Nina was working an undercover sting operation in an attempt to turn a cartel member against his family in exchange for witness protection.

The operation led to Scola and Nina realising they were ready for the next step in their relationship — tying the knot.
