Taylor Swift inducted into Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame

Taylor Swift has become the youngest artist ever to be inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.

The 14-time Grammy winner, 36, said she has been “very fortunate” as she received the honour at Music City Center in Nashville.

In video footage from the event, Swift said: “One thing that I did learn is that songwriters, although they possess a superhuman ability to understand and interpret the human condition, and like insane levels of empathy, they are just people too, and they are people who in a lot of ways raised me and guided me through formative years.

“You know, I’ve been very fortunate. I’ve gotten to genre-hop and travel the world, and write with so many different people, and in so many different ways.”

Swift began her career in Nashville after moving there with her family at the age of 11 and credited the music industry in the city for its influence on her songwriting.

She said: “The only reason that I’ve been able to have that kind of dexterity in my creative process is because of the fundamentals and the foundation that I learned here in Nashville, and I never forget that for a single second.

“I tell every single person I know about what we have here and I’m so incredibly honoured to be inducted into this sacred club, especially at this point in my life.

“It’s not lost on me how crazy this is and I will cherish it forever because Nashville is the place that honed and polished this thing about myself, and the thing about my life, that I am the most proud of and the most passionate about.”

The Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame is a non-profit organisation with the objective of honouring and preserving the songwriting legacy associated with the music community in the city.

Other artists inducted this year include Lyle Lovett, Shawn Camp, Bruce Channel and Lee Thomas Miller.

Swift, one of the best-selling music artists of all time, has had a record eight albums sell more than a million copies in their first week in the US.

Her single Patient Zero saw her become the first artist to have three UK number-one singles in 2026, following Opalite and I Knew It, I Knew You.
