Boy Abunda says Bimby Aquino will only marry a girl who accepts brother Josh

Boy Abunda shared that Bimby Aquino has expressed his commitment to taking care of his older brother, Josh Aquino, and hopes to find a girl who can understand that responsibility.
During a conversation with select members of the press for his upcoming birthday week special on “Fast Talk,” Abunda became emotional as he recalled Bimby’s statement about taking care of his brother when their mother, Kris Aquino, is no longer around.
“Ang nakakatouch din ay si Bimb when he spoke about Josh. Sabi niya, ‘I will only marry a girl who can accept Kuya because I know that one day when Mama is gone I will take care of him.’ Nakakaproud,” Abunda said, as seen in a clip posted by Kapuso PR on Instagram on Wednesday, Oct. 21.

Abunda’s remarks come amid the recent controversy involving the podcast “Machong Chismisan,” whose hosts drew widespread criticism after mocking Josh, who is on the autism spectrum.

In a now-deleted episode, one of the podcast hosts, Tito P, referred to Josh as “walang kwenta” (useless) which prompted backlash from netizens, celebrities and condemnation from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).
The Pod Network, which had a contract with the podcast, subsequently terminated its partnership with the group. Tito P later apologized for his disparaging remarks about Josh.
Kris, meanwhile, broke her silence on the controversy, saying she had chosen not to engage in a “word war” over the comments directed at her son.
Abunda’s comments also come ahead of Kris’ television reunion with her longtime friend on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.” The two-part television special is scheduled to air on Oct. 28 and 29. /edv
