Vikings Release Running Back Ahead of Colts Game

The Minnesota Vikings host the Indianapolis Colts at noon Sunday, and they're expected to have their full complement of running backs for the first time since week 1.
Jordan Mason, who has been on injured reserve since that opening weekend victory over the Packers, had his practice window opened on Monday and has been on the fields at TCO Performance Center working out with the team all week, in full.

Head coach Kevin O'Connell told media Friday that Mason is "technically questionable" for Week 7. However, the expectation is that he'll be activated at some point Saturday.
MN Vikings release DeeJay Dallas
On Friday afternoon, though, the Minnesota Vikings made what appears to be a preliminary move to a future Mason activation when they released running back DeeJay Dallas from the 53-man roster.
Per the NFL transaction wire, the Vikings have released RB DeeJay Dallas from the 53-man roster.
Jordan Mason is expected to be added to the 53-man roster tomorrow.

Dallas appeared in five games for Minnesota this season. He carried the ball three times for 10 yards and caught all four of his targets for 34 yards. Now he is a free agent, able to sign with any team needing a running back. If the Vikings decide to bring him back on the practice squad, they would have to clear a spot.

The Seahawks drafted Dallas, 28, out of Miami in the fourth round, 144th overall, in 2020. He spent four seasons in Seattle before stops in Arizona, Carolina and Jacksonville.
His best special teams year came with the Cardinals in 2024, when he averaged 30.6 yards on 15 kick returns and took one back 96 yards for a touchdown.
