Anutin shares rainbow photo ahead of Bhutan royal audience

THIMPU, Bhutan — Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul shared a photograph of a rainbow over the sky in Bhutan on Sunday morning, ahead of a scheduled audience with the King and Queen of Bhutan on the final day of his official visit.

Anutin, who also serves as interior minister, posted the photograph on Facebook at around 07:00 on 1 November 2026. He captioned it “Bhutani Sky” and added the song “The Candy Man” by Sammy Davis Jr. as background music.

According to Aekkapop Pienprasert, a government spokesperson, Anutin, his wife and the Thai delegation departed Paro International Airport for Gelephu on Sunday.

The prime minister was scheduled to attend Project 108, an initiative to construct 108 Jangchub Chortens, or stupas of enlightenment, along the Mau Chhu River in Gelephu.

After completing the programme, Anutin and the delegation were scheduled to have an audience with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema of Bhutan.

During the audience, Anutin was expected to report on the outcome of his official visit and progress in cooperation between Thailand and Bhutan in various areas.

The delegation was scheduled to return to Thailand later on Sunday, with arrival expected in the evening.
