The incident occurred near Dysart, 180 kilometres south-east of Mackay.

The driver, a 22-year-old Moranbah woman, sustained minor injuries and a five-month-old boy suffered serious injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Service transported the pair to Dysart Hospital before they were flown to Mackay by helicopter.

The forensic crash unit is investigating and police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
