4-part Australian thriller hailed a "masterpiece" is streaming now on ITV

A four-part Australian comedy crime drama on two siblings involved in a hit-and-run has just landed on ITV's own streaming platform, and critics are hailing it as a "masterpiece".

Based on British TV series Guilt by Neil Forsyth, Aussie adaptation Reckless is developed by Kodie Bedford. It centres on June (Tasma Walton) and Charlie (Hunter Page-Lochard), two siblings who hit an elderly man with terminal cancer on their way back from a wedding.

The duo make a split-second decision when realising they've killed the man, opting to return the victim to his home to make it look like he'd died there.

Now available to watch in full on ITVX after the show first aired last year, Reckless has been described as a "darkly comic drama" on the streaming platform's description. As the siblings "grapple with the fallout of a terrible crime," the logline teases, "can they keep their mouths shut?!"

The series has earned positive reviews, with The Guardian writing: "Many balls juggled, none dropped. Reckless is, underneath its flourishes, a masterpiece of control."

The Age was full of praise for this "sunshine noir" celebrating the show's "First Nations outlook on both sides of the camera".

"Reckless keeps you bemused and tense – you laugh as the protagonists dig a deeper hole for themselves, then you fret," their review also reads.

In 2025, ScreenHub called Reckless "one of the best times you'll have with Australian television this year", with the series enhanced by "the sparkling energy of Walton and Page-Lochard".

The cast for the series is rounded out by Jessica De Gouw as Sharne, Clarence Ryan as Roddy, Jane Harber as Kate, Tracy Mann as Valda, and Duncan Fellows as Rex.

Reckless is streaming on ITVX.
