North Central Trap Shooting Team gears up for new season

FARMERSBURG, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — North Central High School's Trap Shooting Team is preparing for its new season.

Trap shooting is a popular shotgun sport where participants use a firearms to break flying targets. The team has been shooting at the Oaktown Conservation Club working on accuracy, consistency, and safety as they prepare for upcoming competitions.

They have 2 season every year, and this fall season will last through mid October.

"To come out here and see these kids do what I did as a kid and especially in school. It's awesome that the school is allowing us, allowing these kids to do this. So, it's really gratifying," Coach Chase May said.

"I've been shooting guns since I was 10 and whenever I found out that we we're going to have a shooting team, I decided that it would be fun," Senior Coltyn Thompson said.

"I just kind of did it a little bit. I wasn't very good at first and then I practiced, and then it just got a lot more fun. And it just kind of got easier as you went along," Sophomore Kynadee Riggs said.

Coach Chase May says it's been a really good year for the team.
