Form Six allowance to be paid over 3 semesters

Translate

FORM Six students will receive a living allowance of RM2,500 starting next year, said Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek.

"The assistance, announced under the 2027 Budget, will be disbursed once registration for all Form Six students is completed."

Fadhlina said this after opening the "Jelajah Negaraku: Aku Kasih Malaysia" programme here yesterday.

The allowance will be distributed over three semesters, or about RM800 per semester.

Fadhlina said the initiative reflected the government's commitment to supporting Form Six students and improving the quality of Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia.

The amount is equivalent to the allowance received by matriculation students and is expected to benefit 90,000 Form Six students nationwide.

The allowance was among 12 resolutions raised at the Madani Pre-University Congress in Klang in August. — BERNAMA
