Worship songs should do more than entertain — Esther Jonathan
Worship minister and songwriter, Esther Jonathan, has said that worship music should go beyond entertaining audiences to creating an atmosphere for spiritual encounters and healing.
Jonathan noted that worship ministers have a responsibility to lead people towards a deeper relationship with God rather than focus solely on performances.
She said, “Worship should do more than entertain an audience. It should reveal Jesus and create an atmosphere in which people can encounter God. Ministers should be vessels of healing and create an atmosphere where God can minister to people.”
Jonathan has built her ministry around the conviction that worship should glorify Jesus and help people experience God’s presence.
An important part of her journey has been her service as a worship minister at Koinonia Global, under the leadership of Apostle Joshua Selman.

Beyond Nigeria, Jonathan has ministered at concerts, worship programmes and conferences in different locations, with her appearances in the United Kingdom reflecting the growing international reach of her work.
A statement shared with Sunday Scoop added, “Her music has reached listeners in more than 150 countries. Her YouTube channel has garnered more than 87,000 subscribers, while her videos and other content have recorded over 20 million views. On Spotify, she has approximately 355,000 monthly listeners.”
