Nigerian Breweries kicks off Oktoberfest

Translate

Nigerian Breweries Plc has launched Oktoberfest, a month-long celebration featuring music, football, fashion, food and entertainment experiences across several Nigerian cities.

The initiative, which began with Independence Day celebrations on October 1, brings together some of the company’s consumer platforms and brands under a unified festive calendar running throughout October.

The programme features community beer parties, football fan zones, dance music events and other lifestyle experiences, with activities scheduled across different locations in the country.

According to the company, Oktoberfest follows the success of its Big Fiesta earlier in the year and precedes its Detty December programme, forming part of its 2026 entertainment calendar.

At the centre of the celebrations is the Big Weekend Xperience, powered by Goldberg, Life and 33 Export.

The platform combines live music, DJ performances, local entertainment, games, rewards and other consumer activities, with events scheduled across multiple cities.

The Independence Day edition began on October 1 in Ibadan and Abuja, followed by events in Sagamu, Jos and Awka on October 4.

The programme is scheduled to continue in Ondo, Makurdi and Owerri on October 11, before moving to Lagos and Calabar on October 18. Further events are planned for Lagos, Kaduna and Enugu on October 25.

Football enthusiasts are also expected to benefit from Fanfest, powered by Goldberg and Life, which combines football viewing with music, gaming, food and other entertainment activities.

The initiative is designed to offer supporters an immersive match-day experience beyond conventional viewing centres.

The October editions are scheduled for Sagamu on October 11 and Ibadan on October 25, featuring domestic and international football alongside live entertainment and interactive activities.

Meanwhile, Desperados is scheduled to host Roadblock at the THISDAY Dome in Abuja on October 17.

The event, known for its Afro-electronic music and immersive production, is expected to attract more than 8,000 music lovers.

Planned performers include Spinall, DJ Dimple Nipple, DJ Big N and several Abuja-based DJs.
