‘R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2’ Launches At TIFF Market, Details Revealed With Cassandra Peterson AKA ‘Elvira Mistress Of The Dark’ Joining Cast

EXCLUSIVE: Blue Fox Entertainment will launch international sales at the TIFF market to R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2, the upcoming Tubi Original sequel to the young-adult horror film R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead.
Written and directed by Jem Garrard, who also helmed the original R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead, the sequel continues author Stine’s Pumpkinhead story. The synopsis reads: “When a new Pumpkinhead curse awakens in Redhaven, Sam and Becka must stop it before it claims the entire town.”
Bean Reid, Adeline Lo and Matty Finochio return to star in the sequel, with additional casting due to be announced at a later date. Joining the returning cast is Cassandra Peterson, best known as character ‘Elvira, Mistress of the Dark’, who takes on the role of Cassandra, “a wise and ancient witch whose arrival could prove pivotal to the events unfolding in Redhaven”.
The film is slated to premiere on Tubi this fall as part of the streamer’s Terror on Tubi horror hub. Pic is produced by Front Street Pictures, the film is executive produced by James Mattagne, Joan Waricha, Harvey Kahn, Yvonne Bernard, Dan Bernard, Jem Garrard, Allen Lewis, and Rama Diallo.
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead premiered on Tubi in 2025. Inspired by an episode of R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour, the film “follows teenager Sam after his brother Finn mysteriously vanishes and everyone in town—including Sam’s mother—seems to have forgotten he ever existed. With Halloween approaching, Sam, his friend Becka and eccentric local Rusty must uncover the truth and break a harvest curse before it is too late.”
The original film stars Bean Reid, Adeline Lo, Kevin McNulty, Bob Frazer, Matty Finochio and Seth Isaac Johnson.
“R.L. Stine’s stories have been a gateway into horror for generations of young audiences, and Pumpkinhead brings that same spirit of adventure, scares and fun to a new generation,” said Lisa Gutberlet, President of Blue Fox Entertainment, about the Goosebumps writer. “We’re thrilled to continue our relationship with Tubi and bring R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead 2 to our international buyers at TIFF. Jem Garrard has created another exciting chapter in the mythology, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with audiences around the world.”
The acquisition expands Blue Fox Entertainment’s international sales relationship with Tubi, following multiple collaborations, including Buzzkill starring Siena Agudong and Brec Bassinger, and Aliyah’s Interlude.
R.L. Stine’s Pumpkinhead series is not related to Stan Winston’s 1988 cult monster movie Pumpkinhead, which also spawned a film franchise.
