National Trust SA inquiry resumes today as CEO resigns

Translate

The chief executive of the embattled National Trust of South Australia, Nicolette Di Lernia, has resigned.

A parliamentary inquiry into the Trust, which resumes today, is hearing from Ms Di Lernia after she was previously unavailable to give evidence.

The National Trust's Council is expected to oversee operations until Ms Di Lernia's replacement is found through a national recruitment campaign.

The inquiry into the Trust, which owns more than 80 historically significant sites across the state, was enacted following a motion from opposition MLC Nicola Centofanti in June, which drew unanimous cross-party support in the state's upper house.

It followed several months of disputes, including the standing down of the Trust's Moonta branch leadership in February, leading to the closure of multiple sites in the region.
