‘Hacks’ Star Megan Stalter Dresses as an Emmy for 2026 Ceremony

The actress, who is nominated for an Emmy for her role as Kayla Schaeffer in Hacks, is known for her bold red carpet style, and on Monday night, she arrived at the Emmys dressed as, well, an Emmy.

Her skin was painted gold, and her hair had also been sprayed gold. She wore giant gold wings, gold jewelry and gold heels.

Posing on the carpet with Hacks co-creator Paul W. Downs, Stalter even re-created the Emmy statuette’s iconic pose (see above) as Downs assisted.

It’s unclear who designed the gown or did her makeup. She was asked during the NBC preshow if she was “wearing Versace,” and later “who designed it,” but she didn’t share details. She simply replied, “This is a remake because, well, let’s say I’m not a size three.”

Stalter has previously shown up on red carpets dressed as a pageant queen with a sash bearing the words “BEST GAY ACTOR” (Critics Choice Association Celebration of LGBTQ+ Cinema & Television); a Diet Coke can (Las Culturistas Culture Awards); and a coffee cup (MTV Video Music Awards). In addition, at the Critics Choice Awards earlier this year, she and Downs wore bright orange outfits that resembled those previously worn by Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.

Mariska Hargitay is hosting the Emmys. The ceremony will air live on NBC and Peacock on Monday at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, taking place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
