In short:

Australian homicide detectives travelled to Poland to extradite a 26-year-old man.

He arrived in Sydney yesterday, where he was charged with murdering a 22-year-old man, whose body was found on the NSW Mid-North Coast in 2023.

He will face bail court today.

A 26-year-old man will appear in court this morning, after being extradited from Poland to face a murder charge.

Police allege the man was involved in the murder of a 22-year-old Peakhurst man, whose body was found in a large metal cabinet in a creek at Macksville on the NSW Mid-North Coast more than three years ago.

The 22-year-old had been linked to the alleged supply of drugs in the Caringbah area, which was being investigated by Strike Force Almug.

Police say the 26-year-old, who had been living in Poland, was involved in the alleged murder, along with two other men.

Two other men were previously convicted over the incident, with one pleading guilty to manslaughter and the other, accessory after the fact to manslaughter.

With assistance from Polish authorities and national law enforcement partners, detectives secured his arrest in Poland before travelling overseas to facilitate his extradition to Australia.

On Sunday, September 18, homicide squad detectives travelled to Poland to arrest the 26-year-old man.

He was escorted back to Sydney International Airport on Friday and taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with murder and refused bail to appear in court today.
