The project has already generated interest among cinema and music fans, with Rashmika Mandanna set to portray the iconic singer. Filmmaker Gowtam Tinnanuri is directing the film, which is expected to explore the different stages of Subbulakshmi’s remarkable life and career.

Anirudh Ravichander to compose music for M.S. Subbulakshmi biopic

One of the biggest updates from the launch is the confirmation that Anirudh Ravichander will compose the music for the M.S. Subbulakshmi biopic. Known for his work across Tamil and Telugu cinema, the composer will now take on the challenge of creating music for a story centred on one of India’s most celebrated classical singers. Anirudh’s involvement has added another major name to the project, which brings together Rashmika Mandanna and Gowtam Tinnanuri for the first time.

She was also widely admired for her renditions of bhajans and appeared in several films during her career.
