Trump says US worked with UK to arrest five terror suspects near RAF base, US Embassy urges caution

"The arrest in the UK was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an amazing job," Trump said, adding that the individuals had already been under investigation. 

The United States Embassy in the United Kingdom urged US citizens in the country to exercise caution and be mindful of personal security following the arrest of five individuals suspected of having been preparing a terror attack near the Royal Air Force base in Fairford, UK, on Sunday. 

The base is used by the US Air Force as well as by British forces. 

According to US President Donald Trump, the arrest was made due to cooperation between the UK and the US. 

"The arrest in the UK was fantastic. Working with Britain, it was an amazing job," Trump said, adding that the individuals had already been under investigation.

US rates UK at Travel Advisory Level 2

The US issued a travel advisory on September 9 warning of the risk of terrorism within the UK. The UK is rated at a Travel Advisory Level 2 - Exercise increased caution due to the risk. 

The US Embassy reminded US citizens that UK authorities rate the threat of terrorism in the UK as severe.
