Jason Statham, Guy Ritchie Set Reunion on Netflix’s Revenge Action Film ‘Dogfight’

Jason Statham and Guy Ritchie are reuniting on a new film for Netflix, Dogfight.

Production on Dogfight, from Black Bear, Toff Guy Films and Punch Palace, is set to start in early 2027, with filming set to take place in the U.K. Plot details remain under wraps, but the streamer describes it as “a stylish revenge actioner set in the London criminal underworld.”

Written by the celebrated British director, the movie marks the seventh collaboration between him and Statham. Their partnership includes the likes of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and the upcoming Viva La Madness.

Ritchie and Statham are both producers on Dogfight, alongside Ivan Atkinson and John Friedberg.

The writer-filmmaker is booked and busy. He created Netflix’s hit crime series The Gentlemen, led by Theo James and based on Ritchie’s 2019 movie of the same name. The show nabbed headlines recently with reports that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, was eyeing a role in the series. She was later apparently dropped from consideration.

Ritchie also serves as a director and executive producer on Paramount+’s MobLand, starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Rumored disarray on that set also made headlines following speculation around Hardy’s firing, but the tension has seemingly been squashed with Hardy’s season three return confirmed. Young Sherlock for Amazon Prime Video, featuring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the titular detective, is another of Ritchie’s directing and EPing gigs.

Statham, meanwhile, is a real-life action man. He’s best known for his team-ups with Ritchie, as well as appearances in the Transporter and Fast & Furious franchises, The Meg, The Beekeeper and Wrath of Man. His last film, Mutiny, was released this year and described by The Hollywood Reporter as “a serviceable maritime action flick that just about stays afloat.”
