Greta Van Fleet boasts its fifth No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart, bowing atop the Oct. 24-dated ranking with Palace for the People.

In the week ending Oct. 15, the set earned 30,000 equivalent album units in the United States, according to Luminate.

The four-piece has ruled Top Hard Rock Albums with every release dating to 2017’s From the Fires. It led again with 2018’s Anthem of the Peaceful Army, 2021’s The Battle at Garden’s Gate and 2023’s Starcatcher. (The act has charted one other entry. Its first, EP Black Smoke Rising, peaked at No. 10 in 2017.)

On the all-genre Billboard 200, Palace for the People starts at No. 9, the band’s fourth top 10. Of the LP’s 30,000-unit first-week sum, 26,000 are via album sales, which send it to No. 2 on Top Album Sales. With 17,000 vinyl copies, the set also debuts at No. 1 on Vinyl Albums, Greta Van Fleet’s third release to reign.

Concurrently, three songs from Palace for the People place on the Oct. 24-dated Hot Hard Rock Songs chart, led by “Heya,” which debuts at No. 7 with 653,000 chart-eligible streams. “Tear It Down” (No. 12; 809,000 radio audience impressions, 425,000 streams) and “Saw You Stand” (No. 20; 362,000 streams) follow. That’s a new peak for the former, while the latter debuted at No. 2 on the Aug. 15 list.

The album’s lead radio single, “Play Your Games,” hit No. 12 on Mainstream Rock Airplay in August, while follow-up “Tear It Down” reaches a new peak of No. 21 on the latest tally. “Play Your Games” reached No. 9 on Hot Hard Rock Songs in June.
