Zendaya Shuts Down Emmys 2026 Red Carpet With Shortest Haircut Yet

Zendaya took the plunge.

The Euphoria star debuted a new hair transformation at the 2026 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 14, hitting the red carpet in a pixie cut that complemented her platinum Prada gown with a plunging neckline.

For the outing—which she turned into a date night with husband Tom Holland—Zendaya opted to ditch the long waves she last wore on the red carpet for the Spider-Man: Brand New Day premiere in London in July. (See all the red carpet looks here.)

And according to her stylist Law Roach, there's a special meaning behind her super-short 'do.

"She's debuting a new haircut," he told Keltie Knight on Live From E!: 2026 Emmys. "It's better tonight. She cut it a little bit more, and we're paying homage to to another great African American, beautiful actress."

As for the fashion? Roach—himself dressed in Givenchy by Sarah Burton—noted that her dress was "very beautiful" as well.

Zendaya's look may prove lucky for the actress, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for playing Rue on Euphoria season three.

Should she best the competition—Carrie Coon (The Gilded Age), Keri Russell (The Diplomat), Rhea Seehorn (Pluribus) and Chase Infiniti (The Testaments)—Zendaya would become the youngest person to win three times in her category.

But regardless of the trophy, Zendaya feels proud to have navigated the rollercoaster of Euphoria.

"It was a whirlwind," she told Variety in May of the final season. “I did what I do in eight months in like four months."

And during her seven years on the show, she'd been candid about how much she's grown on the set of the HBO drama.

“Rue broke my heart open,” Zendaya said on The Drew Barrymore Show in April. “Rue taught me so much about life. That crew has also seen me grow up. I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and redemption.”
