Cinemark Posts Sharply Higher Third-Quarter Results Amid Hollywood Box Office Rebound

Exhibition giant Cinemark Holdings on Tuesday unveiled its third-quarter financial results, posting higher revenue and earnings compared to a year ago.

The big reveal was how a strong movie slate allowed the exhibition giant to sustain gains from this summer’s Hollywood box office rebound into its latest financial quarter. Cinemark saw total revenue rise to $1.05 billion, against a year-earlier $857.5 million in the same period of 2025.

Admissions revenue during the latest quarter was $530.8 million, up from a year-earlier $427.7 million, with attendance of 63.7 million customers. And concession revenue came to $413.9 million, against $336.7 million in the same period of 2025.

The latest financial results for Cinemark for the three months to Sept. 30, 2026 came amid a summer box office rebound for Hollywood titles at the local multiplex that has lifted the hopes of major studios and exhibitors coming out of the pandemic era.

Net income at Cinemark for the third quarter came to $124.2 million, rising from a year-earlier $50.5 million. The company’s third-quarter adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), another profitability metric, rose to $276.6 million, compared to a year-earlier $177.6 million.

Sean Gamble, Cinemark’s president and CEO, in a statement that accompanied the firm’s latest financial results, said: “Our ability to translate positive box office momentum from a compelling slate of summer releases into consistent, meaningful earnings growth reflects the strength of our operating model, the effectiveness of our team and the sustained impact of our strategic initiatives.”
