Slow Horses star calls for major character return

When Slow Horses returned to Apple TV with its sixth season last month, there was a big announcement as it was confirmed that Olivia Cooke would be reprising her role as the popular Sid Baker.
She isn't the only figure to return, with Hugo Weaving, Joanna Scanlan, Rosalind Eleazar and Paul Higgins having returned as Frank Harkness, Moira Tregorian, Louisa Guy and Struan Loy respectively.
Christopher Chung, the actor who plays the loveably obnoxious Roddy Ho, isn't content with just those names however. Speaking to RadioTimes, the star expressed hope that Sophie Okonedo could come back as former MI5 chief Ingrid Tearney.

"It'd be amazing if they figured out a way for Tearney to come back in," said Chung, who has appeared in all six seasons of the beloved spy comedy-drama. "I'd love to work with Sophie because I never got any scenes with her."
It remains to be seen if Chung will get his wish, but he was still happy about the various returns in the latest season, with the actor explaining that it was testament to the show's popularity and quality.
"What's so extraordinary about doing a show like this for six seasons is that there's such a history built in throughout that the audience can reference back to," he said. "You can watch these seasons as standalones, but then you get a real payoff if you're with it from season one.
"Seeing Paul come back as Struan after season one is so brilliant. When I heard that he was coming back, I'm like, 'Oh my god, that's so amazing.' Then you think about all the other characters that have been with us since season one that could potentially pop back up."

Despite being four years into its run, Slow Horses is showing no signs of slowing down, with filming for the seventh season having already been completed. The eighth season, meanwhile, is in development.
The sixth season, like its predecessors, has garnered acclaim from critics and fans alike. It has a perfect approval rating of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes from 35 reviews, while the audience score is at an impressive 89%.
