‘Saturday Night Live’ Adds Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter as Featured Players for Season 52

Translate

Saturday Night Live is adding two people to the show’s cast ahead of season 52.

Saidah Belo-Osagie and Grace Reiter have joined the long-running NBC show as featured players. The show’s cast from last season will largely return, save for Bowen Yang, who left SNL midway through last season, and Chloe Fineman, who departed over the summer. Writer and sometime on-screen performer Martin Herlihy also exited.

Belo-Osagie is a writer and comedian. She wrote and directed the short film Tinge and created and stars in the solo theater show Saidah Gets Closure. She also created the Afrobeats Futura live discussion series and performs sketches on social media. Belo-Osagie wrote in an Instagram story that joining SNL is “a dream come true.”

Reiter’s credits include a recurring role on HBO’s The Chair Company, Chelsea Peretti’s feature First Time Female Director and the upcoming Netflix show Minimum Wage (based on the web series of the same name). She’s also a stand-up comedian and content creator.

SNL opens its 52nd season on Sept. 26, with New York Knicks guard and NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson as host and KATSEYE as the musical guest. Dakota Johnson, Shane Gillis and Obsession star Inde Navarrette are slated to host shows in October.

Castmembers Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Colin Jost, Sarah Sherman and Kenan Thompson are all set to return along with last season’s featured players: Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Ashley Padilla, Kam Patterson, Veronika Slowikowska and Jane Wickline.
