Google Cloud, DeepMind provide AI research tools and computing credits to Europe

Google DeepMind and Google Cloud will provide up to 200 European scientific researchers with access to frontier AI models and $3M in computing credits. The initiative aims to help researchers use advanced AI technologies to accelerate scientific discovery.
The initiative will provide access to scientific tools, including AlphaFold 3, WeatherNext, AlphaGenome, AlphaEvolve, and AlphaEarth Foundations.
These tools cover applications ranging from molecular and genomic research to weather forecasting, algorithm development, and Earth observation.
"By delivering vital compute power and state-of-the-art tools directly to research teams, this effort aims to accelerate the pace of European innovation and reinforce the continent's scientific competitiveness," Google (GOOG) said in a statement released at an AI summit in Dublin.
